Blessed Sacrament Early Childhood Center offers childcare to children 6 weeks of age to 3 years old, along with preschool (3 years old) and pre-kindergarten (4 years old). Our youngest students spend their days learning socialization skills, as well as, age-appropriate concerts and lessons designed around the Iowa Early Learning Standards. Students participate in weekly music and physical education classes. As with all levels within the Cedar Valley Catholic Schools system, the Catholic faith is central to instruction and to their interaction with each other. Scheduled prayer services and service opportunities help our littlest learners develop a relationship with God and a path toward helping others.
We offer fun activities that challenge the creative minds of our students while introducing academic and developmental curricula for each age group. Throughout the year, Blessed Sacrament Early Childhood Center has many opportunities for families to be involved and visit during the school day.
The staff at Blessed Sacrament meet the requirements of the Department of Human Services and the Iowa Department of Education. Staff receive continuous training to ensure compliance with safety and instructional expectations of the State of Iowa. Staff engage students in meaningful learning experiences to support their development.
The Blessed Sacrament Early Childhood Center is a full time daycare center which offers care to families full time as well as wrap around care for elementary and preschool students. The Blessed Sacrament Early Childhood Center staff creates classrooms and spaces in which Christ is the center and in which students can develop healthy relationships in a structured care setting.
Through a streamlined and articulated curriculum the staff at the Blessed Sacrament Early Childhood Center collaborate to ensure our students are ready for their first full time school experience in Kindergarten. The preschool teachers collaboration with the Saint Edward elementary staff helps to ensure that our students are entering Kindergarten with the skills and dispositions they need in order to be successful leaders in elementary school.
