Cedar Valley Catholic Schools follows the Waterloo Community School District regarding school closings due to inclement weather. However, based on local conditions, Cedar Valley Catholic Schools may elect to close due to bad weather. Do not call the school. Listen to local radio stations or TV channels or check local media websites for official announcements.
Notices for Early Dismissals, School Closings, and Late Start Procedures may also be sent by individual school principals.
We work with the Waterloo Community School District to adjust schedules and transportation in the event of severe weather or an unforseen emergency. Once an unexpected change to the school schedule occurs, communication will go out the website, and the CVCS web site and Twitter page.
All weather-related or emergency schedule changes will also be announced on the following:
Local TV Station: KWWL
At Cedar Valley Catholic Schools, we recognize and value the importance of timely information from schools. CVCS uses the Remind App to communicate schedule changes, emergency situations, important dates, and weather delays.
Remind is a free, safe messaging app that keeps families up to date with what’s happening at Cedar Valley Catholic Schools and our individual schools. Messages will be sent by text to the parent contact information that we have on file for each family.
The Remind contact list is updated each school year to include all staff and parents at Cedar Valley Catholic Schools. If you are not receiving these messages, please contact your school office for assistance.
