TUITION ASSISTANCE - STO PROGRAM
Our Faith, Our Children, Our Future
The Our Faith, Our Children, Our Future, School Tuition Organization, or STO, is Cedar Valley Catholic School's primary source of tuition assistance. It provides grants for qualified students to attend non-public schools within the Archdiocese of Dubuque.
The STO receives voluntary cash contributions from Iowa taxpayers and allocates those funds to tuition grants for families based on their identified financial need. Beginning in January, families can complete an application for the new school year, which is confidentially reviewed by FACTS, and grants are announced in May.
Over half of our families receive tuition assistance through the Archdiocese's STO program. STO grants are available for K-12 students who reside in Iowa and whose household's adjusted gross income is at or below 300 percent of the federal poverty rate. STO grants are not available for preschool students.
Each year the federal government comes out with the guidelines at the end of January. The table below shows the STO qualifying income guidelines for the 2018-19 school year. We encourage all to apply for STO assistance, if they fall within these levels.
