Gifts that Make a Difference.

Yearly gifts from alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff are a vital source of support for Cedar Valley Catholic Schools. These unrestricted funds help provide extraordinary opportunities for:

  • Learning and discovery

  • Providing financial aid to students in need

  • Funding emerging educational needs

Your commitment to supporting CVCS, at any funding level, helps sustain our commitment to educating, empowering and engaging students for excellence.

Building a Stronger Foundation

Planned Giving is a set of ways that you can leave money or other assets to Cedar Valley Catholic Schools upon your death. It is also a way to invest money so you receive benefits during your life and then bequeath the remaining funds to CVCS. Your generosity and thoughtful pre-planning will help maintain a quality, faith-based education for students in the Cedar Valley.

Helping Families Afford Catholic Education

The School Tuition Organization (STO) receives voluntary cash contributions from Iowa taxpayers and allocates those funds in tuition grants to Iowa school children, who, in turn, use those grants to attend one of the schools represented by the STO (All CVCSschools are represented by the STO). At least 90 percent of the money received by the STO must go back out in tuition grants.

As an Iowa taxpayer, you can contribute to the STO and receive an Iowa tax credit equal to 65 percent of your contribution. The amount you contribute qualifies as a charitable donation on your federal tax return as well. To date, donors to the STO have saved more than $11 million on their Iowa income taxes.

You can read the FAQs regarding STOs here.
